Received a call from a "Tammy" to a previous work number. The receptionist answered "Insurance Company" & transferred me to Tammy. She asked if I am an insurance agent to which I answered "yes". She then asked for my email address to send me information on a health insurance plan is what I understood. I told her I do not sell health insurance. She then asked for my current phone number to "update her records" and I asked her to take my number off her list. She asked for my number again and I said I would not give it to her. These ppl call my home everyday (including sundays) between 8-14 times a day. They start @ 8:30am to as late as 9:15pm. Serious attempt to scam. They knew my name and knew who my gas utility was. They knew I had gas heat. They told me they were from my utility company which was giving a 10% discount off my bill for one year because I had gas heat. Then she wanted me to get my bill so she could verify my information. She knew my name and my address - very very scary. But of course did not know my utility account number. Needless to say I would not give it to her. I hung up and called my utility company who told me there are dozens of these people trying to switch your gas service without you knowing it - until you get a bill. She gave me the number it the public service commission to report it to. So creepy that the scammer had my name, address and phone number. Wonder what else she knew?
